Men at the sogak madak, lifting the newly dead soul up into the front room, i.e. introducing the soul of the newly dead to the spirits of the ancestors (kĕwokot), and the lewak tapo, splitting the coconut, ceremony in Manga Aling, Adonara, Indonesia, for Lĕwo Taheq Lama Kĕrĕmĕk. He was a policeman in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a truck in Sabah. His father was from Manga Aling, but his mother was from Malaysia (a Bajau Laut).
