Wulan Doni, Lembata, Indonesia
Market at Wulan Doni, Lembata, Indonesia. The market takes place every Saturday morning. It brings together people from Lamalera and the people from the mountains. All goods are bartered. Money is not acceptable. The mountain people, who bring heavy produce, remain seated displaying their goods, while the women from Lamalera, who bring (light) dry fish and salt, walk between them. See R. H. Barnes 1996: 141-145.
