Description
Relief sculpture from Candi Pawon, a Buddhist temple near Borobudur and built at the same time (early 9th century). The relief shows a jewelled tree ('tree of life') flanked by two flying celestial beings and a pair of kinnara, half-bird and half-human celestial beings.
