View toward the Museum Shop located in the northwest corner of the Pavilion entrance to the Bowdoin College Museum of Art. A reception and open house is under way on January 30, 2014 to celebrate the start of the spring semester. Prior to the open house a lecture entitled "Stone, Wood, Printing Press: Remembering (Almost) Forgotten Crafts" was held in the Kresge Auditorium on the lower level of the Visual Arts Center. Woodcarver Peter Follansbee, stonecarver Simon Verity, and artist Martha Finney spoke about their crafts in the context of the exhibition "The Object Show: Discoveries in Bowdoin Collections," which was shown from November 07, 2013 through June 01, 2014 in both the Osher and Halford Galleries. The doors in the background lead to the Osher Gallery.
