Ruins with a man lying on one of the pieces of stone. The Dead Sea is in the distance.
The glass slide, with taped edges, is housed in a slotted wooden box. The slide has a printed white label with information about the publisher, the series title ("Pèlerinage Terre Sainte"), the series number (256), the title handwritten in ink in French and copyright information ("Reproduction interdite").
The item was originally identified as being from an unknown photographer--the information was corrected at CAJS to reflect that it is a Bonfils (signature at lower right of slide).
Verso: Some writing is partially visible, but unreadable, at the top and bottom of the slide.
