One of the most important Brazilian documentaries was produced in 1970. It was banned until 1979 when it was selected for the Brasilia Festival and won the Jury prize. The film now restored, was shot in 16MM and then copied onto 35MM. Contrasts the riches of the Northeast forest with the struggle of man, drought, the large plantations and misery since Colonial Time in Brazil.
Narrated by Paulo Pontes; poem performed by Echio Reis
