Fresco with military scenes. M.C. inv. 1025. From burial chamber on Esquiline Hill. 4 panels depict military exploits of the deceased, probably in Samnite Wars. We see Q. Fabius and M. Fannius exchanging their insignia. Cf. triumphal paintings, Fabius Pictor the painter. Artist and owners were probably Fabii. Fourth century BCE?
