Description
The 4th c. BCE version of the temple has been attributed to the Corinthian architects, Spintharos, Xenodoros, and Agathon.The temple of Apollo was first built around the 7th c. BCE by the two legendary architects Trophonios and Agamedes. It was rebuilt after a fire in the 6th c. BCE. However, the remains seen today date to the 330 BCE reconstruction after the previous incarnation was destroyed in an earthquake in 373 BCE.Terrace wall beneath Temple of Apollo. Masonry style: Lesbian polygonal.
