The carillon, consisting of fifty six bells (weighing twenty three tons) with a range of nearly five octaves, is one of the world's largest and is unique in that the 134 foot tower housing it was designed especially for it, thus permitting the maximum tonal quality of the bells to be heard. The tower and carillon are part of the new All Saints Chapel at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.
