Roy Swan graduated from CUMC in 1947 and continued at the medical center for his residency. After his residency, he spent two years as a fellow at Harvard. He briefly was on the faculty of Department of Physiology from 1952 to 1954. Then he went to Cambridge for a year and returned to Cornell in 1956. In 1959, he was appointed professor of anatomy/chairman In 1966, he was given the the first Joseph Hinsey Professor of Anatomy professorship. He retired in 1987. He died on 04/26/1996.
