Description
Located on the northwest corner of the downtown core at Seventh and Vine streets, the Federated Headquarters was built on top of a seven-story parking garage. Ed Haladay, of the Atlanta office of RTKL, headed the design team and used the relatively new fast-track “design-build,” meaning construction of the building began while the building was being designed. The building was strongly influenced by Hugh Stubbin’s Citicorp Center in Manhattan which was done in the International style. The Federated headquarters is characterized by its sleek, white metal skin and chamfered roof.
