This tintype features four men, two seated, two standing. The picture appears to have been taken in a studio interior. The two figures seated in the front have crossed their legs. They are seated on a prop wooden bench. One of the seated men (left) is wearing a high-neck sweater and a cap. The other (right) wears a coat and jacket, as well as a hat. The standing man to the right has put his hands on the shoulders of the seated man in front of him. The two standing men are shown wearing an open coat and buttoned-up costume jacket, as well as a necktie. Each of them wears a wide-brimmed hat, different from the headgear of the two seated individuals. The reading of this photograph is made difficult by the physical condition of the tintype. The metal plate has been scratched and its four corners are curling. Rust is visible to the naked eye on several areas of the plate, the top and bottom of which have also darkened significantly. The damage has rendered the faces of the two sitters to the right of the picture almost entirely illegible. It remains unclear if the four people represented are members of the same family, a group of friends, or male colleagues from a similar professional field.
