Description
Built 1833-1855 by Jose Amesti, a Spanish Basque emigre; originally one story, a second was added in the 1850s. Purchased ca. 1918 by Frances Adler Elkins, who renovated and restored it with her brother, architect David Adler. Donated to the national Trust for Historic Preservation, 1953; now leased to Old Capitol Club, a private men’s club.
