Description
Researcher's Comments:The unabbreviated obverse reads, "Imp(erator) Numeranius Aug(ustus), which is a title of Numerian, who was Caesar from 282 to 283 CE and Augustus from 283 to 284 CE. Because this coin shows Numerian as Augustus, the coin can be dated to 283/4 CE. The unabbreviated reverse reads, "(Un)dique Victores", which means "Victors in all respects". These victors were Numerian and Carinus, who were co-Augusti in 283 and 284 CE. (Wolfgang Alders, Undergraduate, Johns Hopkins University, 8/27/2013)
