View across the Walker Gallery on the upper level of the Walker Art Building on March 05, 2020 prior to a presentation in Kresge Auditorium entitled "Recovering Nimrud: Smithsonian's Projects in Iraq." Jessica S. Johnson, head of conservation at the Smithsonian's Museum Conservation Institute, and Corine Wegener, director of the Smithsonian Cultural Rescue Initiative, spoke about their work in recovering cultural heritage in Iraq and at the site of Nimrud. This discussion was presented in conjunction with the exhibition "Assyria to America," shown in the Walker Gallery from October 24, 2019 through December 13, 2020.
