Finely written in a large gothic hand, in red and black. Seven large miniatures, the first with a coat of arms, seven smaller miniatures of the sacred wounds, etc., numerous illuminated initials, the miniatures and several leaves of text within borders of poppies, daisies, and other flowers, etc. Old calf, gilt back: centre and corner gilt ornaments on sides. Organization: “O Intemerata” prayer ff.4r-6r; “Obsecro te”, ff.6v-10r; Hours of the Virgin, ff.18r-80v; Penitential Psalms, ff.78r-79v; Suffrages, ff. 88r-91r. “Sumendo aquam benedictam”, ff. 96r; “Salve sanctia facies” ff. 105r; Place of origin: Flanders. The collection of illuminated manuscripts were gifted to Allegheny College by Charles Carroll Albertson, D.D. 1899 in 1952.
