From card: Garfagnana district. (Lucca). Annual production about 17,500 cu. ft.. Very solid, and one of the soundest colored materials all over the Apuan district. Nearly the same texture as Calacata: differing however for a stronger and not so regular marking. Hardness 1.3. Good both under carbo saw and chisel. Polishing good. Edges fairly clear. No plastering required. Highest percentage of big sizes. Can also be sawed across the bed.
