Dear John,

I've been looking for some sort of communication from your office. For obvious reasons the new issue of the Alumni Magazine interests me strongly. Not to forget your news letter.

Perhaps the same is also true of you. I have neglected my correspondence as well. Mainly I suppose because my main source of mail is with me. Stationary should last a lot longer these days.

My reason for this note is a change of address, yes, again! It seems my life travels in circles for I'm going back to the base of Little Creek, making it:

Amphibious Training Base Little Creek,Virginia

That address will last only for a few weeks- i can warn you about that in advance- after which I'll again me c/o Fleet Post Office. I'm headed back to another ship still as an Amphibious small boat officer.

If there's another operation chances are good that I'll see action again. We never know, of course, I may cruise the Chesapeake all winter, but in any case I'll keep in touch with you as best I can.

The news of Berg's first football game with Yale was good reading, even though it wasn't a victory. Sounded like a good game, and even the prewrite made the radio and newspapers around here. I'd like a schedule so that if luck is with me I can perhaps get back for a home game. It would have to be soon though for after a final week of October I'll be afloat again.

As for the home front- everything is coming along very well. We're settled in a single room on the beach, taking all meals out. It's been a summer vacation at the shore, since I was able to get home every evening. Nothing like taking it easy while we can.

My best to everyone and I'll be following Berg as best I can.

Sincerely,

Wil
