Fort Dix, N.J.
Dear 'Chuck',
Saw Walter Fiers a few days ago and he stated that you
would like to know my present address. Beginning sometime in
Oct. I will be transferred from Dix and discharged from the
army in order to enter Officers' Training School. Came be-
fore the board of officers last Mon. and just heard that I
have been passed to begin training for an officer in the
Signal Corps. In all probability will be stationed at Fort
Monmouth;nevertheless, any mail sent to me from the college
should be sent to my home--188 Green Street.,Woodbrige,N.J.--
then I would surely receive it as I am home quite often.
Fiers was also up for Officer's School. Do not know
how he made out as he is connected with the 44th Div..
'Punchy'Laing and KD Stites were down to see me last
Mon. night. Laing is moving out on manuevers today and Stites
is being discharged from the army, under the one year enlistment,
within two weeks.
Will try to arrange to get up and see Muhlenberg play some-
time this fall. Am playing professional ball on Sundays and
am making almost as much money for an hour's work of football
than I do in the army for one whole month!
Will send you a little money after the 30th as that is
the day we all get paid. It will not be much but am sure that
any amount will help.
Best regards to 'Haps', Dean Horn,Mrs. Benfer,etc..
Sincerely,
Just
