Description
Jefferson designed this building at the request of Dr. Robley Dunglison, the University's first medical professor, and Jefferson's personal physician. Built for the teaching of anatomy; burned and restored 1886; converted to a dispensary. One of the last Jefferson-designed buildings at the University to be started and the only one to be demolished; removed after construction of Alderman Library, 1938-39. Archaeological investigation of site conducted Summer 1997.
